Vaccinate your kitten to keep them safe from harmful illnesses.

Getting your kitten off to a great start in life includes a full wellness exam and vaccinations to protect them from more commonly seen feline diseases. During your visit, the veterinarian can also advise you on the best diet options for your growing kitty, tips on using the litter box and spay/neuter information. Along with vaccinations, deworming/parasite control is also very important for kittens. All kittens are born with a parasite called roundworm that they get from their mothers. Speak to your veterinarian to determine which worm treatment product is right for you and your kitty.

When should kittens get their first vaccination shots?

We start kittens first vaccinations at 8 weeks of age. It is important to start them at this age, as any antibodies (immune protection) from their mothers will be wearing off at this point.

How often does my kitten need to be vaccinated?

After their first vaccines at 8 weeks of age, kittens will need to have boosters at 12 and 16 weeks of age. At each of these vaccination appointments, our veterinarians will do a full physical examination as well.

Does my kitten only need core vaccines?

Our veterinarians will discuss if your kitten will need more than the core vaccines. It may be recommended for your kitten to get vaccinated for feline leukemia virus.
