What is pet euthanasia and how do I know when its the right time?

Euthanasia the act of humanely ending your dog’s life. It is hard to say exactly when the right time is, however, you know your dog best. When you notice your dog’s quality of life has suffered to the point that he/she no longer enjoys doing the things that make them happy, we recommend calling us to have a conversation about of end of life care.

What is the process of euthanasia?

Once you have made the decision, we recommend you make an appointment. When you arrive, the staff will be waiting with a private room for you. We will ask you about your options for keepsakes and care of the body. The staff will then document your wishes and have you sign the consent form. Once the paperwork is completed, we will have staff take your dog to treatment and give a sedative. We will return dog cat to you, so they may fall asleep with you. When your dog is sedated, we will take your dog to our treatment area and insert a catheter. Your dog will then be returned to you and the veterinarian will come in to perform the procedure.
